Northfield medium duty jointers are designed and built for production work where accuracy and fine quality of work is desired. Their design is such that the working surfaces are easily accessible to the operator. The weight is well distributed throughout, making them well balanced and smooth operating machines. The heavily ribbed and cored frame is cast in four pieces. The two inclines and bed are bolted to legs which are set to provide a wide stance floor base. The overall length of the precision ground, cast iron tables is 74". The tables are accurately machined at the top of the incline blocks without the use of adjusting gibs, They cannot come out of alignment. No adjusting screws or gibs are needed to keep the tables in alignment. A 6" sheet metal dust outlet is provided for connection to a dust collector . The inclines are adjustable and operated by handwheels on the ends of the machine within easy reach of the operator. The machines feature a quick adjust, tilting fence. The 4 knife cutterhead is made from a high carbon steel that is accurately machined, dynamically balanced and direct motor driven.

The heavily ribbed and cored frame is cast in three pieces. The two inclines and bed are bolted to legs which are set to provide a wide, three point floor spread. Perfect alignment is assured at all times by the rocker base on the front leg. The infeed incline is adjustable and operated by a large spoked "ships wheel" on the side of the machine within easy reach of the operator. Both tables are of box form design and cored the full length. This type of construction makes a very ridgid table which cannot warp under any normal condition. The 4 knife cutterhead is made from a high carbon steel that is accurately machined, dynamically balanced and direct motor driven.
