The Northfield planer is a precision built machine manufactured out of the highest quality components. It features a positive overload protected feed mechanism providing variable feed speeds of 20 to 100 FPM. It has a large box type three point mounted cast iron base to insure proper support of all components. A heavy one piece cast iron table accurately carries all table components for precision planing and is easily adjusted by a conveniently located hand wheel. The machine features a sectional chipbreaker with 2" ductile iron sections that is concentric with the cutterhead and rises with the sectional infeed roll on heavy cuts. All four 4" feed rolls are power driven. As standard equipment each machine features a hand brake for the safety 4 knife cutterhead, with a switch to cut power when applied; a dust hood with 6" outlet; and your choice of drives, either belt drive or direct drive. The machine is available with the Northfield helical insert carbide cutterhead (size reduced to 24" maximum width). The Blue Steel GT-635ARD 25" double side surfacer offers an advanced design concept coupled with high efficiency and superior quality of construction. 25" X 8" is the standard capacity of the machine. It features a cast iron machine body and precision ground, hard chrome plated cast iron table for smooth performance, and maximum wear resistance. The heavy cast iron frame and bed provide for vibration-free running. The four (4) table rollers provide superior feeding regardless of the type of wood being processed. A hand lubricator is provided for lubrication of the table dovetail slideways, and an automatic lubricator is provided for the caterpillar chain ways. A torque limiter is equipped on the feed transmission mechanism to allow the caterpillar conveyor to stop automatically in the event of feed overload.
