The Northfield X36C features a telescoping ram that allows the entire upper assembly to recede at the completion of each cutting stroke, leaving the table free and clear for measuring and other work. All vital moving parts are protected by hardened steel. The telescoping ram is made of a special hardened and heat treated steel. The housing is provided with hardened steel bearing ways to allow the ram to move at the touch of a finger on the (32) roller bearings.
